Weekly Reading and Blog Plans: 12/28/20

The last time I posted for this particular blog was on December 7th. Three weeks ago. I can’t believe how quickly time has goes sometimes. I’ve been visiting somebody very important to me and I’ve had an amazing time. I’ll be going home soon. I haven’t read a lot, but I have gotten a lot done and a game plan for getting more done in the future. That’s what matters to me.

I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday. Whatever holiday you may celebrate. I got more gifts this year than I have since I turned eighteen. It truly humbled me. I was also able to do more this year than I have in a very long time. I love giving to those I care about. I also participated in card and gift exchanges for the first time this year. I really enjoyed doing it and I hope to do it again next year.

This year my group and I also somewhat started a tradition. We based it on the Iceland tradition of exchanging books on Christmas Eve and reading and eating chocolate all night. Somebody mistakenly called our thing the Irish Book Exchange, so if it becomes a thing that’s what we will name it. The Irish Book Exchange. I really enjoyed it.

Currently Reading:

Ladon’s Desire by Michelle Dare: I’m actually really close to being done with it. I listened to most of the book between calls last shift. It’s such a great book. To be honest, this entire series has been amazing. I need a really great reason to go back and read them all! For those of you who have Kindle Unlimited, they are all on there and well worth the read.

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong: I’m buddy reading this with my book bff. I have to be honest, I’m having a bit of a tough time with it. It’s a Romeo and Juliet retelling. Which is great. There are just things that have made me really squeamish. I can definitely say that this book is not for everybody.

People Like her by Ellery Lloyd: I’m sure people are really sick of hearing me talk about this book. I really enjoy it. I almost dont want to finish it. I’m about halfway through though. I have referenced this book in many other blogs so far.

What I Intend To Start:

Soul of the Fire by Terry Goodkind: I was actually supposed to have started this series on Sunday. It’s book five in the book series I’ve been buddy reading with my mother. I’m really doing great at keeping up! To be fair, I finished the last one way early.

Caste by Isabel Wilkerson: This is the last book I need to read for the Book of the Month challenge. I’m very excited to read it actually. I discovered recently that I have it in audiobook. So I’ll be switching back and fourth between my book and the audio.

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: 12/7/20

This week is going to be really weird for me. I work two more shifts and then I’m off for five days. On Friday night, I’ll be going out of town. I can’t say much more than that. I will be gone for the rest of the year. I plan on continuing to blog during that time. I may have more to say on the subject at a later time.

I plan on posting some blogs that should have been posted during my down time. So you all may see some older blogs pop up out of nowhere. I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure this doesn’t happen again. One of the biggest things of mental health is self care. I need to start doing that. I also plan on getting caught up on reviews as well. So you’ll see those come up as well. I’m going to be trying a new format. We’ll see how that goes.

Currently reading:

Nothing. I have finished exactly two books since I last made a blog like this. I haven’t really been myself lately. I’ve been in a major reading slump. I think I’m slowly coming out of things now. We shall see.

What I intend to start:

Temple Of The Woods by Terry Goodkind: This is the next book in the Sword Of Truth series that my mom and I are reading together. I should have started this awhile ago. Here we are. I’ll get it read and caught up on it.

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong: This is a book of the month book. They are doing a challenge thing this year. There are three challenges. Read 12 books period. Read 5 books from 5 different genres. Read 3 debut novels. I did the 5 genres challenge. I need to read 4 more books. One of which is a debut novel.

Kingdom of Embers by Tricia Copeland: This will be the audio I start once I have caught up with Temple. I usually typically have an actual book and an audiobook. If I’m reading a paperback, I typically have an ebook to read for work because ebooks are easier to handle at work. Anway, unless I have an audio tour come up, this is my next audio read.

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: 11/16/20

I’m really looking for a fantastic week. I’ll be returning home. I’m also finally getting adapted into my routine. For the most part anyway. I feel like I will be more productive when I’m back home quite frankly. I’m also starting a clean slate as well. I have things planned out, but I’m not going to keep punishing myself for things that I had no control over.

What I’m Reading:

Original Sin by Lydia Michaels: I’m about halfway through the book. Give or take. I’m not in love with the book, but it’s not really horrible. The story is a little hard to wrap my arm around and I don’t care for the misogynistic undertones. I mean I get it, but still.

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks: The book is a very adorable story. I’ve had to set it down to get some other books read. I have enjoyed reading it. I’ve enjoyed the characters. It can be a bit predictable though.

Blood Of The Fold by Terry Goodkind: My mother and I have been buddy reading this series. We have been really enjoying it. We are almost done with this one.. We should be done with it by Thursday and start the next one Saturday.

Books I Intend To Start This Week:

The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell: I’ve been intending to start this book for awhile now. I had it scheduled to read a few chapters every day. It’s for a book club meeting. We meet November 30th (virtually). I’m really looking forward to it.

Temple Of The Woods by Terry Goodkind: This is the next book in the Sword Of Truth series that my mom and I are reading together.

Demon’s Revenge by Skye McKinnon: This is a Novella in a series I’ve read recently. I’m rereading it because a good friend of mine will be reading it. I’m catching up to where she left off and we will be reading the rest of the series together.

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: Revamped

This little weekly segment is getting a bit of a makeover. Instead of making a schedule type post, I’m going to talk a little bit about the books I’m currently reading. My progress on them. I’m also going to include some personal thoughts and loose plans for the week for my blog. I feel like it would make me happier.

What I’m reading currently:

Blood Of The Fold by Terry Goodkind: This is the third book in the Sword Of Truth Series. I’ve been buddy reading the series with my mom. We read two chapters a day. She has a book. I’ve been listening on audio. Well attempting to. For the past several days I’ve had a horrible headache that barely goes away with many Motrin. Any sound has been making things worse. We’re supposed to be finishing chapter 20 today. I’m starting it completely over though. To freshen up since I had barely started it.

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks: I’m going to start this out by saying that I’m not a big Nicholas Sparks fan. I find the books very boring. I’m a huge fan of the movie A Walk To Remember. It’s the one book to movie that I love the movie better than the book! Either way, a book bestie of mine really loves the author. Especially this novel. So I’m giving it a chance for her. I’m four chapters in. Can’t say I’m loving it, but I can’t say I’m hating it or finding it boring either. So there’s that.

Weekly Plans:

I have officially started my new shift this week. The first shift went well. It was kind of weird for me, but I’m excited for it. Once I get off work the next shift, I’ll take a nap and then go vote with my family.

As far as the blogs, I’ll try my best to get caught up on some older blogs and reviews. Right now, my focus is on adapting to new schedule and National Novel Writing Month. I have allotted two hours a day to blogs. So, hopefully that will give me enough time to keep up with the blogs and catch up as well. We shall see!

I have written almost four thousand words towards NaNo so far. It’s all been towards the project I’m working on that I’ve dubbed The Place That Binds Us. I don’t think my entire goal will go just towards that project. I’m also planning on doing a lot of writing prompts that I will use towards goal as well. I’m looking forward to my progress from here on!

Speaking of NaNo, I’ve decided to do updates for the project every Monday. Unless somebody wants to see a separate blog posted for it. Just let me know!

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: 9/28/20

I know this isn’t requested or really needed, but I like posting these every week. It gives me a sense of organization. I also know that people can view it as reference to know what posts are coming for the week. I always try to schedule my blogs the day before. It doesn’t always happen, but I’m getting there. Please note that sometimes things may get added into the schedule later in the week. I will try to come back and edit them in, but sometimes I may forget. Hope you enjoy!

My reading plans are unclear right now. I know! Shocking! But hear me out. I went obsessively crazy and put like twenty books on hold at the library! I was going to screenshot them when I discovered that the eight that were ready for me to pick up were removed from my account. I’m not sure what’s going on. I emailed the library to find out what’s going on. So we’ll see. If it’s a glitch in the system, I’ll have this replaced with a photo of all my books later in the day! 🙂

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: 9/7/20

This is going to be a very productive week. I’ll be starting a writing prompt every single day. I also am going to start drawing lessons. I’ll be doing 30 lessons doing a lesson a day between Mondays and Fridays until all 30 are completed. I’m very optimistic about this. Hope you like the prompts. Please comment your thoughts and if you want to see more of the stories so I know which ones to put more focus on!

Nothing set in stone this week. I’m really trying to get better with this.

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: 8/31/20

Some announcements. I’m not sure if I stated this already, but I am forgoing the giveaway plans for now. I’m not in a position to make it work right now. I’m going through some changes in my life right now. I have for the past month. For the most part, things seem to be calming down. Hoping it manages to stay that way.

Weekly Reading And Blog Plans: 8/17/20

Hello everybody. I hope you have all been well. Things have really been turned upside down for me, but in a good way. I can’t really get into many details. I have a lot of blogs to make up. So, you’ll see some blogs randomly post. I will not be posting the Weekly Reading And Blog plans I missed. I feel like it kind of defeats the purpose. Things have already passed. I do have a giveaway going on that you all should check out. I’ll be posting a giveaway every Friday until they are all posted and each will last exactly one month!

This isn’t weekly read, but it is a reading pile for my BOTM challenge. I’m having a lot of fun with it! Already at 5 of 12 books!
